Today the club have received the very sad news that Mold RFC legend Denley Issac has passed away. Tributes have been shared on rugby social media platforms throughout Wales and from across the border. Some are included below.

"His enthusiasm for life and rugby is hard to match. A great man and great team mate and everyone involved in Welsh rugby will be saddened by this news."

"Inspirational man, to have such a life, making so many friends the length and breadth of the Country and further."

"Cwsg mewn dawel ffrind, welai di reit fuan! ❤️"

"So so sad. A massive man despite his size and a fantastic mentor and gentleman who had a hugely positive influence on so many of us. We were so fortunate to know him gents."

"Crossed the border, taught us how to scrum when a scrum was a scrum, left a legacy and a great man."

"Denley believed totally in the North Wales rugby player. He dedicated himself to the cause and with the North Wales squad he inspired and encouraged them to compete with the best. If you add his technical ability and incomparable man management skills you had a coach of real talent. Above all else ....we loved him and to a man admired and respected him totally. We were lucky to have had him."

"He was a lovely man, instrumental in improving Llangefni’s scrum for our league wins."

"Denley you were the reason so many of us played the game"

"Best coach I ever played under and my best rugby memories of a great team with crackin lads led by a truly fantastic man"

These are only a few selected quotes, but gives a sense of the great loss that we are all feeling. As a club we pass on our sincere condolences to Denley’s family who will hopefully take some comfort from knowing how loved Denley was by his rugby family.

Mold RFC have certainly been blessed to have been touched by his greatness and he will be sorely missed by all who were fortunate to have known him. Denley R.I.P.
